"Flash Flood", oil on canvas 1951 to 1976; 25" x 45"

Verso inscribed: "'Flash Flood' begun 1951 finished 1976. This is a root 3 Infinite Dynamics composition begun immediately after my rediscovery of this geometric structure. For preliminary studies see my book 'Infinite Dynamics the Golden Key to Art.'" This same painting, then titled "Interruped Holiday," appears in Adams' brief book Infinite Dynamics, published in 1951. At that time the painting included and outstreched hand reaching down from the upper right hand corner of the picture to help the woman to safety.
