- The Evanston Public Library's primary responsibility is to the residents of Evanston.
Questions from Evanston residents, or about Evanston, will be given priority.

- E-mail questions have the same priority as those submitted by phone or in person.
The response time will depend on the nature of the question and the number of other questions we have waiting.
You can usually expect a response within two days.
- The personal information you provide to the Library is used to provide library services to you
and to allow the Library to reply to your request for information. Customer information collected
by the Library is used by the Library for the purpose it was collected and is not released to the
public or other organizations except under a court order (see the Policies of the Board).
- The Library may contact other organizations in researching the information you have requested,
but the Library will not provide your personal information to another organization without your
permission.
- Please note: Your question and our answer may be retained to assist with future inquiries and
added to a publicly searchable question database used to answer future questions. Your personal
information or any identifying information will not be saved in such a database. Anonymous
statistics about your request will be maintained for program management purposes.
