Description: CPAs for the Public Interest (CPAsPI) is collaborating with the Center for Economic Progress to recruit volunteer CPAs for the Tax Representative program. Tax Representatives provide pro-bono advice and legal representation to low-income individuals and families that face a controversy with the Internal Revenue Service.

Description: Connections for the Homeless works to prevent homelessness and provides housing, employment and supportive services to move individuals and families out of homelessness into permanent housing and stable lives.
Offers financial literacy classes.
Programs:
EntryPoint - Street outreach and drop-in linking homeless people with shelter and supportive services, 800-439-6691. Access to locker storage, telephones, computers, showers, laundry and more. Basic healthcare, medical screening and checkups are provided by a part-time nurse and volunteer physicians.
Hilda's Place - 1458 Chicago Ave, Evanston, IL 60201, 847-424-0945, ext. 11, Transitional shelter with supportive services for adult men and women.
Housing Program - 2010 Dewey, Evanston, IL 60201, 847-475-7070, ext. 140, Transitional apartments for families with children. Permanent supportive housing for those with a physical disability or mental illness.
Notes: Prevention Services - Security deposits, rent, mortgage and utility assistance can be provided when funds are available. The intake process begins by calling 847-475-7070 ext. 140.
Employment Program - Job-readiness program and counseling for those who need employment.

Description: GED preparation classes coordinated through Oakton Community College; "Job Club" meets M, W and Fri from 9-11 am.; assists applicants with finding jobs, preparing for interviews, writing resumes and other employment-related issues. Referrals to local agencies for substance abuse services and temporary financial assistance to eligible applicants.

Description: PIC is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people become homeowners. PIC provides a down payment and closing costs assistance to qualified buyers with no repayment and no second mortgage or lien of any type. A portion of every transaction goes to a local charity. PIC also provides free homebuyer education courses online. PIC is a HUD approved housing counseling agency.

Character Building Program:
Adventure Corps (boys ages 6-12),Sunbeams (girls 6-11),Girls Guards (girls 12-18) and Teen Reflection Cell Group (a drop-in time for teens 13-18). Meets Fridays 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Youth Music Program:
Activities for youth include Singing Company (ages 6-10),Junior Choir (ages 10-17),Junior Band (ages 13 and older) and Instructional Band (ages 6-15)
Summer Day Camp:
A day camp is offered for 8 weeks during the summer for children ages 5-12, between 7:30 am - 5:45pm, Monday through Friday.

Women's Programs also available, including sewing and Zumba groups
