Description: Held annually since 1972 on historic Custer Avenue, in the Main Street Shopping District. 250 artists and craftspeople from across the nation come together to exhibit and sell paintings, ceramics, pottery, photographs, jewelry, graphic arts, wearable art, country and home craft, antiques and collectibles. They are joined by 150 local businesses and commercial exhibitors who put on an old fashioned Sidewalk Sale. Entertainment and food.
Usually takes place on the third weekend in June.

Duck Pluck And Race

Description: A rubber duck "race" around the Dawes Park lagoon. Ducks travel on waves created by volunteers with paddles. Supporters win prizes when the ducks they sponsor are some of the earliest to cross the finish line. Annual fundraiser for the Evanston Ecology Center resident critters. Sponsor one duck for $10 or a "Quack Pack" of 3 for $25.

Description: Over 30 vendors of fruit, vegetables, meat, flowers, cheese and bakery items from local and regional farms. Free parking available in the Maple Street Parking Garage. Special events and performances by local musicians.
Notes: Downtown Farmers Market:
This market is held every Saturday, from early May through early November. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Location: Intersection of University Place and Oak Ave. (just east of East Railroad Ave.)
Ridgeville Market:
Wednesdays, early June through mid-October, 3:30 p.m.-7p.m., Intersection of Ridge Ave. and South Blvd.
West End Market:
Saturdays, early June through late October; 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Indoor Farmer & Artisan Food Market:
Located in the Evanston Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd., on Saturdays from December through April from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Ecology Center is located in the Ladd Arboretum with convenient free parking just across Bridge Street.

Description: The Evanston History Center, located in the historic Charles Dawes House, works to present,teach and interpret Evanston's rich history through museum tours, special exhibits, annual special events.
The Charles Gates Dawes House may be visited during regularly scheduled Tours.
Individuals may conduct research on their homes or other topics using the Frank B. Foster Research Room and EHC Archives.
The History Center is available for Event Rentals .

Description: The Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate was started by Ricky's wife, Sherialyn, and his friends in memory of the former basketball coach at Northwestern University who was murdered by a racist in 1999. Proceeds benefit the work of the YWCA Evanston/North Shore, especially in areas of violence prevention and racial equity.
