Description: Held annually since 1972 on historic Custer Avenue, in the Main Street Shopping District. 250 artists and craftspeople from across the nation come together to exhibit and sell paintings, ceramics, pottery, photographs, jewelry, graphic arts, wearable art, country and home craft, antiques and collectibles. They are joined by 150 local businesses and commercial exhibitors who put on an old fashioned Sidewalk Sale. Entertainment and food.
Usually takes place on the third weekend in June.

Ethnic Arts Festival

Description: Annual lakefront celebration of the foods, crafts, music and dance of many world cultures; features live music, dance performances, art and craft work of juried artists. Held annually at Dawes Park in late July; sponsored by the city of Evanston.
Notes: Note: in 2014, due to construction at the Arrington Lagoon in Dawes Park, the festival will move just north to Centennial Park, Sheridan Road at Church Street. Free parking will still be available just north of the festival grounds (and will be even closer this year!) and free shuttle buses will again be in service.

Fountain Square Arts Festival

Description: Largest and oldest fine arts fair on the North Shore, featuring works of over 200 juried artists. Covers 6-block radius near Church and Sherman Sts. Live music and food vendors; children's tent offering art lessons and activities.
Held the fourth weekend in June; benefits the Evanston Chamber of Commerce.

Lakeshore Arts Festival
Address: Due to construction at the Arrington Lagoon in Dawes Park, the festival will move just north to Centennial Park, Sheridan Road at Church Street. Description: The Talking Pictures Festival presents independent films from around the world mixed with brand new offerings by local filmmakers. The annual festival features animated films, documentaries, fiction films and shorts that entertain, engage and challenge.
The Talking Pictures Festival is organized by Percolator Films. For the festival, Percolator Films has partnered with local businesses and organizations as well as the Evanston Public Library.
Notes: Festival takes place in the spring.

Y.E.A. (Young Evanston Artists) Festival

Description: Hundreds of school children work hard all year for this special day when their visual and performing art is the focus of Evanston's only children's art festival. The excitement reigns at the corners of Chicago Ave. and Dempster Street. In case of rain, Yea! will take place at Dawes School, 440 Dodge Avenue at Oakton. Come experience the magic!!
Held annually on the third Saturday in May.
