Evanston Public Library Offers Innovative Pilot Programming This Summer

Want to encourage your teenager to be innovative, creative and productive once school lets out? Would your daughter like to program a robot? Perhaps your son would like to use the latest technology offered by a 3-D printer.
Evanston Public Library (EPL) will offer innovative programming at all three of our locations this summer for teenagers, children and families to engage with technology, invent and tinker, create rather than consume, and discover the joy of learning while doing. The programming is designed to spark interest in science, technology, engineering, math & the arts and help develop valuable skills in an atmosphere of discovery, collaboration, and fun. What better way to learn!

Reaching Out to Low-income Seniors and Adults with Special Needs
For some Evanston residents, picking up books at the library or downloading an e-book is not an option. That’s true for low-income seniors or adults with special needs who live in group residential facilities. For these patrons, the library comes straight to their door.
Customized Deposit Book Collections can be found at the Ebenezer-Primm Towers Senior Citizens Home, 1001 Emerson Street; Jacob Blake Robinson Manor, 1615 Emerson Street; The Grove of Evanston, 500 Asbury Street; and Greenwood Care, 1406 Chicago Avenue. Books are delivered to the residences, where collections of 50-100 books are maintained.
