Go to the EPL Facebook page and click IM a Librarian, right at the top. You can then text your question to us and get LIVE help: with your account, finding books, or reference questions. Available whenever the Library is open. If you don't use Facebook, you can use the Instant Messaging box on the Ask A Librarian page.
Online Computer Reservations

As part of our new computer reservations system, library computer users can now make reservations online up to two days in advance for all computers on the second and third floors of the Main library, except for the Accessible station and the computers in the Loft. Users can have only one reservation in the system at a time.
If you are in the library, you can make a future reservation at one of the Reservation/Printing stations located on the second and third floors. You can also call the Magazines and Newspapers desk at 847-448-8635 during library hours to make a reservation.

The Loft Wins Another Award

On Friday, October 24th, the Evanston Public Library Teen Loft was awarded an Interior Architecture Award by the Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). “It’s got the spirit of the teens,” a juror commented, declaring this Evanston Public Library space apt for its audience. The award was presented to library staff and the architects at the 53rd Annual AIAChicago Design Excellence Awards Program held at Navy Pier.
EPL Loft Wins Interior Design Award

The Evanston Public Library’s Loft (teen room) has won the biennial American Library Association / International Interior Design Association (ALA/IIDA) interior design award for "Single Space: a small project that focuses on a specific room or area in a library". The award will be presented July 1st at the upcoming ALA National Conference in Anaheim.
The ALA/IIDA interior design awards honor public, academic, and special libraries, each in two size categories (over and under 30,000 sq ft), plus an outstanding historic renovation project, innovation in sustainable design, a single space (our category), and a project not yet under construction. Award winners must demonstrate excellence in aesthetics, design creativity, function and satisfaction of the client’s objectives.
