A minimum of 8 children is required for storytimes and programs to be held. Children must be residents of Evanston or attend school in District 65.  Book Babies and Time for Twos is limited to 12 children with a parent or caregiver. Time for Twos is meant to be a special time for a parent and child, so no older or younger siblings. Registration required unless otherwise noted.

April Weekend Family Films: The Pirate Fairy

Zarina is a smart and ambitious dust-keeper fairy who's captivated by Blue Pixie Dust and its endless possibilities. When Zarina's wild ideas get her into trouble, she flees Pixie Hollow and joins forces with the scheming pirates of Skull Rock, who make her captain of their ship. Tinker Bell and her friends must embark on an epic adventure to find Zarina, and together they go sword-to-sword with the band of pirates led by a cabin boy named James, who'll soon be known as Captain Hook, himself.  2014

Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day is a single day - the first Saturday in May each year - when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE* to anyone who comes into their stores.

We will be giving away free comics, as long as they last, courtesy of the generosity of our own local comic store, Comix Revolution, 606 Davis Street, Evanston.  Stop in the Children's Room and then go visit and thank Comix Revolution!



Family Board Game Night

On the third Thursday of every month, children 2 to 9 wear their pajamas to the library and enjoy a fun mix of stories and songs!  A great time for the whole family!  Drop-in; no registration required.
