The Bodacious Oracles of Knowledge, or B.O.O.K., is an all teen theatre troupe open to interested Evanston teens between the ages of 12-18 (or, 6th grade to 12th grade). We perform original, ensemble-based stage adaptations of young adult literature, original stories written by teens, and plays depicting the young adult experience. Past performances include a full adaptation of The Sledding Hill by Chris Crutcher (in celebration of Banned Books Week 2010), an ensemble-created snapshot of Five Flavors of Dumb by Antony John, a short adaptation of I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak and readings of The Red Glass by Lauren Resau and Carver, a life in poems by Marilyn Nelson. Young actors, musicians, budding sound, lighting, scenic and costume designers, writers and directors are invited to join us as we take artistic risks, explore live storytelling on our feet, and have fun.
