Must be an Evanston resident or attend an Evanston school.
Read books, create reviews and win great prizes!
You must read 6 books and submit 6 reviews to be eligible for the grand prize: A Video Camera!
Submit book reviews in any of the following formats!
- Video (we have cameras for you to use in the Loft)
- Photo reviews on flickr
- Written reviews submitted online
- Written reviews submitted on paper
- In person! Drop by and discuss books with the Loft staff or with staff at a Branch Library
Some ideas for your book reviews (written, video, or photo!)
- Make a movie pitch to Hollywood execs. Why should they turn this book into a movie?
- You have some artistic freedom in how you want to adapt this book into a movie. What would you change and why?
- Write the lyrics to a song that will go on the movie soundtrack.
- Pick a character in the book and choose an actor to play his/her part. Why did you pick that actor?
What are some of the scenes from the book that you can especially envision that actor playing?
- You think this book would make a terrible movie. Why?
- The author asks you to make a video trailer of the book to post on his/her website.
What scenes would you pick to highlight in order to entice others to read the book? Why?
