Hey, Kiddo: How I Lost My Mother, Found My Father, and Dealt with Family Addiction by Jarrett J. Krosoczka

Title: Hey, Kiddo: How I Lost My Mother, Found My Father, and Dealt with Family Addiction
By: Krosoczka, Jarrett J.
Published: 2018
Call #: YA B Kroso.J Kroso.J

A graphic, both literally and figuratively, autobiography of artist/writer Krosoczka who grew up in the home of his profane and loving grandparents. His unreliable mother was an addict, constantly in and out of jail and rehab; his father an absence whose name Jarrett didn’t even know. From his mother, Jarrett inherited a talent and love of drawing which helped him find a place in his world. The limited color palette and author’s honesty make the story pop.
