Books for Just $1

This is the big one, the one you’ve all been waiting for! On August 12 and 13, the Evanston Public Library is holding a $1 Book Sale at the Main Library. Browse the stacks of donated books to fill the gaps in your library or just find a good book to read on vacation. Each book will be only $1. A limited number of CDs and DVDs will be available, also for $1 each.  Sale hours will be Saturday, August 12, 10:00 am to 5:30 pm and Sunday, August 13, from 12:30 to 5:30 pm in the third floor book sale room.

“It’s a blowout book sale for the Library. Because of upcoming renovations, we need to clear the book sale room. So everything must go,” says Kelley Fleming, circulation supervisor.  “Don’t forget to bring a friend to help you carry your finds.”

The Chicago Reader has called the EPL Book Sale “The Best.” That’s not surprising because the high-volume and high-quality book donations that power these sales reflect the avid reading habits of our community.  The proceeds of these sales, run by our devoted Book Sale volunteers, support the collections and services of the Library as we strive to continually evolve and meet the needs of the community.

Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.
