Being Mortal’s Villages – A Live Webinar with Dr. Atul Gawande

programMonday, September 25, 4 pm, Community Meeting Room, Main Library

Join North Shore Village for a live webinar featuring Dr. Atul Gawande – the author of the NY Times bestselling book Being Mortal. Titled “Being Mortal’s Villages: The Value of Community and Choice as we Grow Older,” Dr. Gawande’s talk will be moderated by NPR’s Here & Now host Robin Young and feature a discussion on aging, living life with purpose, and transforming the possibilities of life’s later chapters. The conversation is being simulcast live from Boston in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Village Movement.

The Village Movement was born in Boston in 2002 as an alternative approach for aging adults. Villages are created by and for older adults and empower their members to make wise, safe, and vibrant choices about how they wish to live. Today there are over 200 open Villages and more than 150 in development throughout the U.S. including North Shore Village.
