Special Reading of Award Winning Picture Book Trombone Shorty

Thursday, July 12, 4:15 pm, Children’s Room, Main Librarybook jacket

In honor of National Summer Learning Day, libraries all around the country will be offering special readings of the Coretta Scott King and Caldecott Honor winning book Trombone Shorty! Written by acclaimed jazz musician Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, with amazing art by the great Bryan Collier, this fun, vibrant picture book autobiography celebrates how Trombone Shorty discovered the love of music as a kid living in New Orleans! Mr. Brian will read Trombone Shorty in the front entrance of the children’s room at 4:15 pm. If any children play brass instruments, bring them on in! For those who cannot make the 4:15 pm reading, copies of Trombone Shorty will be on hand at the children’s reference desk between 1 pm and 8 pm on Thursday, July 12. Patrons can read the book together in the library, and return the book to the children’s reference desk when done. No registration required.
