Mission Impossible: James Baldwin

Join us for Mission Impossible’s 10th year!

What is Mission Impossible? It is an annual yearlong program where, over the past decade, hundreds of readers have joined with Library staff to read and discuss classic works of literature.

This year we will be discussing three novels by James Baldwin:

  • Go Tell It On the Mountain
  • Giovanni’s Room
  • Another Country

All novels are Vintage International editions.

Book discussions begin in mid-October. Registration for a discussion group will begin at the kickoff lecture. Starting September 25, you can also register online at epl.org or by calling 847-448-8620.

The program begins with a Kickoff Lecture by Dr. E. Patrick Johnson, Carlos Montezuma Professor of African American Studies and Performance Studies, and founder and director of the Black Arts Initiative at Northwestern University.

Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.
