Summer Reading Challenge 2023

June 1-August 31

Join the Evanston Public Library as we mark 150 years of service by participating in the 150 Years Summer Reading Challenge for children from birth to rising 5th graders.

How do I register?

Come to the Main Library, Robert Crown Branch Library, or meet us outdoors at parks and events around Evanston this summer and:

  • Pick up an activity card.
  • Complete 5 of the 6 activities on the card.
  • Turn in your card at either Evanston Library location and receive a free book beginning on June 12.
  • Complete a second card and turn it in at either Evanston Library location and choose a prize from our Treasure Chest.
  • Complete and turn in additional cards for more raffle entries.

All participants will be entered into weekly prize drawings and a Grand Prize drawing at the end of the Challenge. We will even have a special activity card for our very youngest patrons.

  • The Main Children’s Room in the Main Library at 1703 Orrington Ave
  • The Robert Crown Branch Library at 1801 Main Street
  • Mason Park on Wednesdays: June 14, July 19, July 26, August 2, August 9 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
