Description

Zonta International is a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions, working to improve the legal, political, economic and professional status of women. Zonta Club of Evanston supports Evanston agencies and programs which serve women and children and gives one scholarship a year to a woman in a non-traditional field.

The prime tenets of the international organization are:

improve the legal, political, economic, health, educational and professional status of women through service and advocacy.
work for the advancement of understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of executives in business and the professions
promote justice and universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedom
unite internationally to foster high ethical standards, implement service programs and provide mutual support and fellowship for members who serve their communities, their nations and the world.
Since 1923, Zonta has provided more than US$9,800 million to projects benefiting over 2 million women representing 34 countries.
