Description

Purpose is to establish, maintain and encourage high cultural, intellectual moral standards among its members, to engage in public service programs, and to promote and encourage achievement in education by granting scholarships to high school graduates from the Evanston area.
Youth programs: Delta Academy, Delta Gems and EMBODI.

Public Notes

A private, non-profit organization of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women, in 900 chapters, providing assistance and support in local communities throughout the world. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, Political Awareness and Involvement.
