Diet, Heart Health, and Living a Full Life

An introduction for everyone to the importance of diet for maintaining good health, avoiding obesity, and living a happy and full life, taught by two expert cardiologists.

Diet has an enormous impact on health, obesity, and our capacity to greatly lower the risk of heart disease. These lessons are relevant for every stage of life, from children to seniors. Early eating habits help set the stage for health later in life—though it is never too late for dietary changes to impact longevity and well-being. Accordingly, this program will be led by a pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Barbara J. Deal, professor emerita at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine, and a preventive adult cardiologist, Dr. Stephen Devries, a preventive adult cardiologist and director of the Gaples Institute for Integrative Cardiology in Deerfield, Illinois.

This non-credit, no-charge mini-course is intended for parents, families, in fact anyone who wishes to learn more about how their diet affects overall health–and specifically heart health.
