Celebrate Pride @ EPL all June!

For all ages:

 Support the Evanston Pride Car Parade at EPL Robert Crown Branch Reading Garden

Sunday June 5th, 12-1:30 p.m.

Create signs of support for the Evanston Pride parade and cheer them as they pass! Pride themed crafts and buttons will be available as well.

Drag Queen Storytime

Saturday, June 4, 11:30 -12:30, at EPL Robert Crown Branch Reading Garden. Register.

Wednesday, June 9, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at EPL Main Library. Register.

The fabulous Coco Sho’nell is back to present a fun and fabulous storytime for all ages. Bring your whole family and join us for this special event! Registration is recommended but not necessary. A family craft will follow the storytime presentation while supplies last!

Law at the Library: Trans-affirming Legal Services at TJLP

Tuesday, June 28, 6-7 p.m. via Zoom.  Register.

Learn about trans-affirming legal services offered by the Transformative Justice Law Project of Illinois (TJLP), including name changes, policy work and litigation for trans individuals, and tips for trans-affirming legal care.  TJLP will also offer guidance on other legal issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community should be aware of, and thoughts on where to look for help with those issues. This program is presented in partnership with the Chicago Bar Association and the Chicago Public Library.

Pride Month Crash Course Come learn about LGBT+ history!

Friday June 17th 5-6 PM at EPL Robert Crown Branch Multipurpose room Celebrate Pride Month! Join us at Robert Crown on June 17th for an introductory crash-course on LGBTQ history from pre-Stonewall through today. Drop in. No registration required.

Pride Fashion Sewing Session

Sunday June 12, 1-3 p.m. at The Teen Loft at EPL Main Library.  Register.

Are you excited for Pride Party in June? We are too!

We have some awesome party activities planned, one of which is our Pride Fashion Show! We all know Pride Fashion is a big deal, and if you’d like to show off your style this pride month, come rock it at the show! If you’d like a little help bringing your ideas to life, come to one of our Pride Sewing Sessions. In preparation for the fashion show, we will have a session in both May and June, so we have lot’s of time to make sure our outfits look amazing!

Pride Party

Wednesday, June 22, 6-8 p.m. at EPL Robert Crown Branch Reading Garden. Register.

We will be having a live dance workshop covering waacking and voguing, led by a professional dancer, followed by a fashion show and dance party! There will also be stations for face painting, nail polish making, paint-your-own flags, a photo booth, and more!

Stop by and show us your best pride looks! We are so excited to see everyone there!

Grab a kit to create a colorful rainbow windsock craft Kits will be available at our both our Robert Crown and Main Library Branches while supplies last. More info.

Pride Crafternoon Party!

Monday, June 13, 3-5 p.m. at EPL Main Library

All are welcome (but supplies are limited!) for this crafting event! Join us in this inclusive space to celebrate acceptance and create colorful flower crowns or affirmation stones. All materials will be provided. Event is recommended for ages 6-10 and caregivers. More info.
