Public Notes Now community members who don’t have access to cable television or the Internet can get current City information with the use of their AM radios
Concerned about the limited ability to notify community members in emergency situations, City officials purchased this radio station with the assistance of funds allocated by the 911 - Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB).
There are no disc jockeys or radio personalities for AM 1650. The station is a travelers’ information station that plays looped recorded messages.
As the programming for the station continues to progress, it will be used to broadcast emergency information. Currently, the City’s travelers’ station broadcasts general city information.
