Founded by Byrne and Joyce Piven in 1973, PTW is a not-for-profit professional theatre and actor's training center. The Workshop produces critically acclaimed professional theatre works, focusing on adaptations and story theatre. The actor's training center provides classes for youths in 4th grade through high school, and adults. Students at Piven discover the value of improvisational thinking, the training of impulse and instincts, the power of truth and honesty in performance, and the importance of effective communications skills. Piven Theatre Workshop has helped thousands of students celebrate play and unlock their own unique artistic voice. Located at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center.
