The Evanston Animal Shelter is committed to providing compassionate and humane care for Evanston’s abandoned, abused and relinquished animals and to find them homes through rehabilitation, foster care, adoption, and rescue organizations. We aim to further serve the community as a proactive resource for education, counseling and support.

Visit us during our adoption hours at 2310 Oakton Street in Evanston, IL. The shelter is located between Dodge and McCormick, across the street from Petsmart, Home Depot and Steak & Shake.

Description

The Evanston North Shore Bird Club is devoted to birding and protecting local natural resources, offers programming and field trips. Membership meetings held every fourth Tuesday of the month, September through April (no December meeting), 7:30 p.m. at the Evanston Ecology Center.

Evanston North Shore Bird Club has adopted the new (as of October 2015) Clark Street Beach Bird Sanctuary. Volunteers work inside the sanctuary learning about plants and keeping them healthy. We invite people who would like to be bird monitors or volunteers to contact us at info@ensbc.org.

Co-sponsors regular bird walks with the Lincoln Park Zoo and participates in the National Butterfly Count with North Park Village Nature Center and Spring and Winter Bird Census Counts as well as other local projects. Bird watching field trips. Meets on the second Monday of the month, 7:30 p.m., at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.

The Fort Dearborn Chapter is not affiliated with the National Audubon Society.
