E-book Sales Pass Paper Ones

April 16, 2011

CNN is reporting that E-book sales in February topped sales of all other books, including paperbacks and hardcovers, according to a report by the Association of American Publishers.

Sales of E-books totaled $90.3 million in February up 220% from February 2010. Although the report comes with some caveats, for instance data is compiled from publishers rather than booksellers, the association reports that it is a good snapshot of the industry and where it is headed.

Interestingly enough, another section of the CNN website provides an unscientific quick poll asking readers which they prefer – E-books or paperbacks. A whopping 80% of those who voted prefer paperbacks!
