Eoin Colfer Crosses Over to the Adult Side

October 25, 2011

Eoin (pronounced Owen) Colfer, author of the Artemis Fowl books, a popular children’s series of seven titles with an eighth due out in June, 2012, has crossed over to the adult and much darker side. Plugged, his crime caper featuring Daniel McEvoy, a bouncer in a sleazy joint in New Jersey was recently released to much critical acclaim. In an interview with radio host Bob Edwards,  Colfer talked about the unforeseen consequences of a children’s author writing an adult (think R-rated) book . At a recent book reading and signing to promote his new book, the audience held a number of kids, huge fans of the author, and Colfer judiciously chose not to read aloud. Unfortunately the interview with Bob Edwards is unavailable online, but here is Lisa Scottoline’s Washington Post review of Colfer’s book. For more about Eoin Colfer, visit his website.
