Street Books in Portland

Since June, Laura Moulton has been the librarian for Street Books, “a bicycle-powered mobile library, serving people who live outside.” Two days a week, the writer and mother of two distributes books to her patrons, who are not able to get library cards from city libraries since they don’t have a permanent address. While grant funding from the Regional Arts and Culture Council will end in August, Ms. Moulton intends to continue the project.
