Articles on Food: From Rosh HaShanah to American Test Kitchen

September 22, 2011

A book that combines my love of history with my interest in             cooking has to be investigated! Recipes Remembered: A Celebration of Survival tells the tale of Holocaust survivors through the use of recipes. I’ve read accounts of concentration camp prisoners who spoke to each other about food from home to sustain themselves mentally, despite its total lack in reality. This delightful article briefly reviews a few more cookbooks in keeping with Rosh haShanah’s arrival next week. Sweet New Year to all our bloggers!

American Test Kitchen offers a well-liked cooking show and publishes cookbooks on the side, pardon the pun. How does Christopher Kimball publish magazines without advertising and charge money for recipes? Traditional books have been a solid business for Chris Kimball and he doesn’t plan on abandoning this model. See why.
