An all-volunteer group dedicated to making Northwestern's international students feel welcome in this country and at Northwestern University. Offers a variety of social and informational programs: temporary housing with local families, foster relative program, English conversation groups, children's playgroups and other social and cultural activities.

An informal, inclusive progressive social group, Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place to talk politics. Group meets every Monday at 7pm.

We focus on the ethical values that bring people together, not on the beliefs that keep people apart.
Serious chess in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere for adults (high school and older.) Junior players rated 900+ are welcome to play in our weekend tournaments. Beginners welcome. Membership is free. Sets provided, but bring clocks. Meets at Levy Senior Center,300 Dodge Avenue, Evanston IL 60202.
Local homebrewers who get together on the third Thursday of the month at the Prairie Moon (1502 Sherman Avenue, Evanston, IL) from 7:00p-10:00p in the back bar. Group promotes the craft of homebrewing through knowledge-sharing between members, develops an active and flourishing social network of members through events and meeting, and promotes the appreciation of craft beers.

The Kiwanis Club of Evanston exists to serve the citizens of Evanston, through fund raising and volunteer activities that support service projects which provide for education, guidance, health and a safer environment. It is committed to improving the well being of the community and being a catalyst for enhancing fellowship and collaboration within the community.

Variety of programs geared for ages 55 and over. Programs include health/exercise, dance, sports, arts, trips, and concerts.
Hours: 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Fitness Room For Levy Center members,hours are Mon.-Fri.,7am to 9pm; Saturday and Sunday 9am to 2pm. For non-members,hours are Mon.-Fri., 7am-9am and 5-9pm; Sat. and Sun.9am-2pm.
The North End Mothers’ Club, founded in 1911, supports educational, charitable, civic, health and welfare activities in Evanston and organizations dedicated to these purposes. Members are women from all over Evanston. The Club provides three scholarships to seniors graduating from Evanston Township High School: The NEMC Senior Girl’s Award, the Nursing Scholarship and the Joanne Murphy Trautwein Music Award.
The primary fund raiser for the Club is the Fortnightly Dance Classes open to all Evanston 6th and 7th graders.

S A M is a non-sectarian social organization of men over 55 who are retired or semi-retired and wish to participate in a variety of activities with men of a similar age and situation.
Meetings are held primarily in Evanston, but membership is open to all.
Currently active groups are book, movie and general discussion groups, sports-themed and photography groups. Open to suggested activities, topics and interests.

The Woman's Club of Evanston, founded in 1889, is a nonprofit organization of over 400 women from the North Shore and Chicago dedicated to community service, philanthropic work and friendship. Annual events are: Holiday Bazaar (November), Annual Benefit Dinner and Revue Show (March), Dreams Delivered (April), and Spring Benefit (May). Supports many local social service agencies with donations and volunteer service. Clubhouse, 1702 Chicago Ave., at the corner of Church Street and Chicago Avenue, is available for rentals.
