Advocacy: information, guidance and referrals for obtaining social services of all kinds
HIV testing and prevention: confidential and anonymous free HIV rapid tests and HIV risk reduction counseling, safer sex supplies, offered on site and through outreach.
Harm reduction: outreach to intravenous drug users, which includes syringe exchange, hepatitis and HIV risk reduction counseling, Naloxone overdose prevention training, safer sex supplies.
Hepatitis C testing and prevention: confidential and anonymous hepatitis C testing and viral hepatitis risk reduction counseling
Job center: computers, telephone access and job search skills training for the homeless, formerly incarcerated, residents of halfway homes and other clients.
Access to Recovery: substance abuse counseling and transportation assistance (CTA passes) for formerly incarcerated men and women on probation or parole.
Youth at risk: academic tutoring, drug prevention education, safer sex education, free enrollment for Chicago Park District sports programs and referrals for other social services.

Founded in 1913, the non-profit oversees 2 full-day child care nurseries: Baby Toddler Nursery for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old and Teen Baby Nursery full-day child care for infants and toddlers whose parents attend Evanston Township High School, located in the Family Focus Building. Caseworkers make weekly visits to the 70 families enrolled in the Family Support Program to connect parents with resources, help them cope with their child's development and understand that they are their child's first teacher.

The Moran Center’s attorneys and social workers provide integrated legal and social work services to address the critical needs of Evanston youth and their families. The Moran Center’s services are free to qualifying individuals. Our Expungement & Sealing Help Desk at the Skokie Courthouse serves any individual with a Cook County criminal record, regardless of age or income. For all other programs, participants must be (1) 26 or younger (or a parent of someone 26 or younger), (2) at or below 80% of poverty as determined by HUD, and (3) reside within the City of Evanston or attend school in Evanston.
We believe all children and their families deserve quality legal representation regardless of their ability to pay. Our talented, experienced legal team advocates for children and their families to ensure they have equal access to justice in:
- Jail;
- Juvenile Court;
- Criminal Court;
- Clearing Criminal Records (youth and adults) through the Moran Center’s Expungement & Sealing Help Desk; and
- Civil Legal Proceedings through the Moran Center’s School-Based Civil Legal Clinic.
Our legal representation is combined with social work services for a non-traditional approach that leverages the request for legal assistance to help youth and their families address social and emotional challenges at home, in school, or in social interaction with others. Our social workers provide outreach, case management, short-term crisis intervention, and individual counseling.

The Rice Child + Family Center provides residential care and treatment for children, ages 8-15, diagnosed with severe emotional, behavioral and mental health problems. The center's goal is to return these children to a loving family. Therapy is conducted in individual and group settings, and includes social skills training, counseling, and psychiatric intervention.
All of the services provided by the Rice Child + Family Center are administered in-house to about 50 children. The facility includes a medical clinic, group therapy classrooms, special education facilities and an art therapy area.
