Programs:

Prevention: Short-term financial assistance for individuals and families at-risk of losing their home.

Community & Shelter: Overnight shelter for male-identifying adults and access to comprehensive services. Site-based outreach services for people who are homeless to access basic necessities including showers, laundry, storage, food, clothing, and an on-site health clinic.

Housing: Transitional housing for youth and families experiencing housing insecurity. Permanent housing and rapid rehousing for individuals and families who are homeless. All participants have access to comprehensive services.

Description

Family Promise Chicago North Shore provides services for homeless families in transition, helping them get back into permanent and sustainable housing and employment. The program serves 3-4 families for approximately 90 days or less. Families are provided with meals, hygiene supplies, and other necessities to help them get back on their feet. Volunteers provide and share a family style meal, play with children, help with homework and stay overnight with families.  The Family Promise Day Center is based in Evanston with partner congregations throughout the north shore suburbs.

Description

An organization that links members of over 50 Evanston religious organizations and facilitates cooperative work for the hungry and homeless, interfaith dialogue and community building. Outreach projects include soup kitchens, warming centers and the Hospitality Center for the Homeless. Annual Vision-Keeper Dinner for members. Sponsors annual Evanston Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at various houses of worship.

Warming Centers are located in the facilities of member houses of worship and are staffed by volunteers. The Centers open in November and continue through March.
Hospitality Center for the Homeless located at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, offers social services and referrals weekdays from 7-11 am.
Producemobile provides distribution of free produce on the second Tuesday of each month, from 9:30-11:30 am. at Robert Crown Center.
Soup Kitchens are run by teams of volunteers in several locations.
Overnight Emergency Shelter: The Emergency Overnight Shelter is open every
night from mid November through March, at 6 different faith communities,
from 9pm to 7am.

Description

Provides shelter and services to homeless persons and persons at risk of becoming homeless in suburban Cook County. The Hope Day Center is a day resource center which offers a wide range of free services.
PADS Shelter Program provides hospitality, food, and overnight emergency shelter to the homeless between October 1 and April 30, seven days a week (including holidays).
Pathways Housing Readiness Program prepares people to become housing ready, while providing referrals and placement and follow-up services.

The ARK provides free comprehensive care and support to Chicagoland Jews facing adversity. Dignified, quality wrap-around services help clients return to self-reliance.

The Medical Clinic of the Goldie Bachmann Luftig Health Center is open five days per week, including two evenings. Medical treatment is provided by volunteer physicians and The ARK’s professional medical staff. Patients make appointments to see internists, as well as cardiologists, gynecologists and other specialists. X-rays and other tests and procedures are performed at area hospitals at no charge to clients, through special arrangements. In addition to a food pantry and meal service, The ARK offers free optical, pharmacy, financial and employment counseling, social services, mental health day-programming and interim housing.

Mary Lou's Place 32-bed residential shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. The only criteria for admission is that the individual or family is fleeing from a dangerous situation. They can stay for up to 90 days; transitional housing services are then available.
