A progressive series of arts enrichment classes for children ages 6 months to 13 years. Classes for younger children include songs, dance, language activities, finger plays, large and small motor skill exercises, rhythm activities, puppetry, pantomime and group games. For 5-13 year olds, classes include dance, cooking, Chinese, and ballroom dance.

The Evanston Children’s Choir provides first-rate choral music education and performance opportunities for young people of all ages, ability levels and voice types, emphasizing multiculturalism, inclusion and accessibility, and musical excellence through positive reinforcement. Groups include the Concert Choir (advanced), Youth Chorale (beginner-intermediate), Family Choir (all ages and voice types, including adults), and Story Choir (elementary). All choirs practice at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St., Studio 107, Evanston, IL 60201, 847-448-8620. Tuition starts at $215 per semester, but families in need pay only the portion of the tuition which they can afford, on an honors system basis. No family is turned away for inability to pay.

Summer Day Camps

Music classes for newborns through preschool and the adults who love them. Music Together® class is not a "music lesson." It is not performance based, nor is it a model for musical perfection. It is a relaxed, playful, exploratory musical experience for both child and caregiver.

High-quality musical instruction with faculty from the Bienen School of Music, Northwestern University. Private and group lessons for children in piano and strings, and adult voice, chorus, and piano classes. Special Kindermusik classes for young children. Financial aid is available to make music study available for all children.

Professional not-for-profit music theater in Evanston, Illinois, founded in 1980, offering three annual main-stage productions at Cahn Auditorium, 600 Emerson Street (at Sheridan Road), Evanston. All productions presented with large cast and full orchestra.
The company also presents concerts and outreach programs at schools, hospitals, nursing homes, civic organizations, festivals and other community events. Offers five one-week Summer Kids Workshops for students age 8 to 13.

Inexpensive, non-degree classes and workshops for the general public in arts and crafts, social dance, music, photography, foreign language, yoga, massage, wines and beers, and other topics. Open to teens and adults. Classes offered four times a year, beginning in October, January, April, and July.

The non-profit Northshore Concert Band has brought music to the Chicago metropolitan area since 1956. Performing up to 15 concerts a year and reaching over 20,000 people annually, the NCB’s season includes a four-concert subscription series held at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, Northwestern University., educational outreach programs at area schools, summer concerts, and professional band festivals and conferences. They are deeply rooted in the concept of “community” and in encouraging involvement in music for people at all stages of life. Part of their mission is to foster and promote wind music and the adult band concept and to assist in the music education of young people. Northshore Concert Band’s engaging music education programs demonstrate to younger musicians that there are opportunities for them to play and enjoy their instruments their entire lives, regardless of whether they choose a musical vocation

Soul Experience is an arts-in-education enrichment program combining history, music, dance, composition, narration, and performance for 3rd through 12th grade students.

This award winning facility houses a DCFS licensed preschool program, private music lessons, children’s theatre, dance classes, enrichment programs, culinary arts, visual arts classes, performing arts camps and is home to the Skokie Art Guild and Devonshire Community Playhouse.

Verhoog Piano Institute is an intensive music program with a neuroscience focus. Students aged nine to 13 can participate in the intensive program, where up to four years of piano can be learned in only nine months. The second part of the program focuses on students of all ages who have brain damage, teaching them to think in new ways. Students play by ear, and also improvise music in the style of the composer they are studying

Music and movement program for children from 6 months to 3 years.  In each Wiggleworms® session, children sing, play finger games, do circle dances, and play rhythm instruments. Program is occasionally offered in French and Spanish.
