Swim team, established in 1982, for adults with abilities ranging from beginner, lap swimmer, and triathlete to former high school and college standouts. Team is comprised of about 120 men and women ranging in age from 18-80. All members are encouraged to participate in meets. The Winter Season runs from October through May and practices are held at Evanston Township High School. The Summer Season runs from June through August at the 50-meter outdoor Centennial Pool in Wilmette.

Looking to get in shape or stay in shape? We have nine graduated lanes, starting with novice lap swimmers and ending with former college swimmers. Our age range is roughly 19 to 80. Our practices typical have one coach covering three lanes, with each coach running the practice and providing advice on technique.
Looking to meet some fellow swimmers and hang out? In addition to the camaraderie with the folks in your lane, you’ll probably enjoy the Catfish team parties and post-practice social outings that are scheduled throughout the season.
The first time is always a bit scary, of course. Just show up, meet the coaches, and try a free practice. You'll love it!

Used Bike Sales: We sell used bikes at our shop on Saturdays, 10am –noon, and seasonally on Wednesdays, 6-8pm (April - Sept).
Classes: We teach bicycle maintenance through our introductory Tune-Up Class and our more advanced Overhaul Class.
Freecyclery: Volunteers fix bikes, which we then donate to those in need. Volunteer Hours are on Tuesdays, noon-5pm, and on Fridays, 5-8pm.
Open Shop: Use our tools to fix your own bike, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-9pm, and Saturdays, 1-5pm,

Summer 3v3 Camps
Team Evanston was officially founded in 1991 through the merger of Evanston’s two premier traveling youth soccer clubs – Gross Point Soccer and Pele Stars. The main purpose of the merger was to unite Evanston club soccer under one umbrella organization, and to improve the overall quality of youth soccer in Evanston. Both clubs had a great tradition in Evanston, but agreed it was time to pool resources and talents to create a better experience for both boys and girls in Evanston.
Today Team Evanston consists of 40 boys and girls team including approximately 600 children playing from U8 through U19. Though the organization is still run by a volunteer board, all teams have paid and licensed coaches. The club also has a paid director of coaching responsible for the hiring of coaches and development of curriculum for all age levels.
Plays 9 hole golf at Evanston Wilmette Golf Course, 1030 Central Street, Evanston, on Thursdays at individual tee times between 7:25 and 8:30 a.m. during the summer (end of May through early September).

With two pools, a cool, deep water pool and a warm, shallow depth pool, YWCA Flying Fish offers swim lessons, swim team, water polo, masters swimming, aqua aerobics, and lap swimming. Flying Fish Swim School teaches 1,200 children to swim each year, and the Flying Fish Swim Team is one of the largest in Illinois, with 500 swimmers ranging in age from 6-18.
YWCA actively reaches out to children in the community who don’t know how to swim and provides scholarships to ensure equitable access to swim lessons and swim team for all kids. As a lead partner in Evanston Swims!, YWCA also provides free swim instruction to second graders in Evanston Public Schools.
Swimmers are invited to join the team either through tryouts or through participation in YWCA Flying Fish Swim School.
