The Evanston Wilmette Golf Course Association manages Evanston's only golf course. Formally Peter N. Jans Community Golf Course (1982) and Frank Govern Memorial Golf Course and now called Canal Shores.

Fun, informative kayaking classes from beginner to advanced. Learn how to launch a kayak, utilize the paddle for directional control and enjoy the wildlife refuge. Focus is on fun and safety with small classes and experienced instructors. Tours and trips available.
Classes are taught in the Skokie Lagoons, a wildlife refuge north of Chicago.

All-volunteer organization conducts winter community basketball program for high school students at Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. Registration in November, ten-week game schedule starts in early January with playoffs in March. 16 teams.

The Evanston Cricket Club, Hereafter Referred To As ECC Has Been In Existence For Over Thirty Years. It Is A Non-Profit Organization Primarily Consisting Of Jamaicans. The ECC Has A Chapter And Is Registered With The State Of Illinois. The Home Grounds Is Located At James Park At The Intersection Of Dodge & Oakton In Evanston Il.

ECC Plays About Sixteen (16) League Cricket Matches During The Season. In Addition,
A Few Non-League Matches Referred To As Friendly Games Takes The ECC To Places Such As Atlanta, Ohio And Canada.

Not Only Does The Club Entertain And Unite Individuals At Local / Community Level, It Has Expanded Its Reach To Jamaica. The ECC Adopted The Comfort Hall School In Manchester, Jamaica Sponsoring Students Towards Higher Education For The Pass Six Years Donating School Supplies, And With Help From Our Members Set Up A Computer Lab With Sixteen Computers And Printers.

Full purpose membership health club offering exercise classes, climbing wall, swimming, and personal trainers, nutritional counseling, a sauna, steam rooms and Jacuzzi, a basketball court. Climbing and swimming programs for children and Kids Club.

The club sponsors a variety of group rides and special programs. Rides are offered for any level of ability, from beginner to the most experienced riders, and are open to all cyclists 16 years old or older with bicycles in safe working order. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Sponsors the North Shore Century held on the third Sunday in September.

The Express offers girls from age 9-18 an opportunity to play competitive fastpitch softball in a travel team program. We offer pitching, hitting, and skill-building instruction for players who dig fastpitch softball and want to have fun playing to the best of their abilities.

Swim team, established in 1982, for adults with abilities ranging from beginner, lap swimmer, and triathlete to former high school and college standouts. Team is comprised of about 120 men and women ranging in age from 18-80. All members are encouraged to participate in meets. The Winter Season runs from October through May and practices are held at Evanston Township High School. The Summer Season runs from June through August at the 50-meter outdoor Centennial Pool in Wilmette.

Looking to get in shape or stay in shape? We have nine graduated lanes, starting with novice lap swimmers and ending with former college swimmers. Our age range is roughly 19 to 80. Our practices typical have one coach covering three lanes, with each coach running the practice and providing advice on technique.

Looking to meet some fellow swimmers and hang out? In addition to the camaraderie with the folks in your lane, you’ll probably enjoy the Catfish team parties and post-practice social outings that are scheduled throughout the season.

The first time is always a bit scary, of course. Just show up, meet the coaches, and try a free practice. You'll love it!

Non-profit program helps prepare District 65 junior high students for high school level basketball by teaching fundamentals, sportsmanship, academic responsibility, and providing a positive atmosphere to play basketball. Works directly with the Evanston Township High School coaching staff. Regular practices and annual tournament.

The Evanston Recreation Division's summer leagues are Women 14", Coed 14" mushball and Men's 12". Registration for the summer leagues begins in February. Fall leagues are Coed 14" mushball and Men's 12". Registration for the fall leagues begins in mid-July. Online registration available.

Members are boaters who sail, kayak, windsurf or use paddle boards from Dempster Street Beach. Group formed in 2006 and succeeded the former Evanston Sailing Club.  Active in lakefront planning and holds one or two social events annually.

ETHS Summer Sports Camps are designed to provide the student-athletes in our community with
a foundation of fundamental skills, knowledge, character and leadership development, and love
for athletics. Summer Sports Camps for ages 8 to 18.

Evanston Women’s Golf League welcomes new members for play on Wednesdays. From May 3rd- through June 28th play (12 holes) is at Canal Shores Golf Course, 1031 Central Street, Evanston. After then, through mid-September, we will play at a nearby 9-hole course, to be determined. Evanston Youth Lacrosse Association is a not-for-profit, community-based organization offering competitive and instructional youth Boys Lacrosse programs for grades K-8, and Girls Lacrosse programs grades PreK-6. (Girls are welcome to play in the Boys-rules lacrosse programs.)

A community recreation facility with programs for adults and children, including a fitness center, dance studio, regulation gymnasium, and auditorium space. Provides extensive after-school and summer programs for children, School Day Off programs and Senior Lunch, served every Wednesday.

The goal of JaHbat F.C. is to provide a safe and productive environment that enables children to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. We facilitate the development of strength and character in every child that participates. Participation in JaHbat F.C. is open to all boys and girls. JaHbat F.C. develops soccer players from Evanston, IL and also surrounding areas. The main site for JaHbat F.C. Evanston soccer club is located by the Evanston High school. With the secondary site; JaHbat F.C. Bensenville soccer club in the Bensenville area.
We are sustained by the efforts of volunteers who display an extraordinary amount of commitment and hard work, ensuring that JaHbat F.C. is a positive influence in the lives of our children. We also strive to provide a service to our community by providing a healthy outlet for children, opportunities for the community to gather together, and endless hours of entertainment.

The Community Center offers sports programs, classes in the visual and performing arts, after-school program and Preschool Programs for ages 2 to 5.
Dance classes include ballet, tap, ballroom and creative movement.
The Ice Complex provides ice skating, figure skating, hockey, speedskating and broomball. Skates may be rented to attend the public skating sessions and may be rented for use during skating classes.

Team Evanston is a competitive community-based soccer club committed to training players to perform at their best in a team environment. Development of technical and tactical skills for players of all levels of abilities is the focus of Team Evanston. Offers individual player training.

Summer 3v3 Camps

Team Evanston was officially founded in 1991 through the merger of Evanston’s two premier traveling youth soccer clubs – Gross Point Soccer and Pele Stars. The main purpose of the merger was to unite Evanston club soccer under one umbrella organization, and to improve the overall quality of youth soccer in Evanston. Both clubs had a great tradition in Evanston, but agreed it was time to pool resources and talents to create a better experience for both boys and girls in Evanston.
Today Team Evanston consists of 40 boys and girls team including approximately 600 children playing from U8 through U19. Though the organization is still run by a volunteer board, all teams have paid and licensed coaches. The club also has a paid director of coaching responsible for the hiring of coaches and development of curriculum for all age levels.

Intense fitness training for members to the highest standards of numerous physical disciplines: Pilates, boxing,Ta’i Chi, Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® and personal training. Judo, boxing and boot camps for kids.

Evanston Boxing Club: The club welcomes all levels and ages to participate in classes and individual training. Offers opportunities to compete at all levels from professional to white collar. Club Members compete successfully in USA Boxing events in the Chicago area.

With two pools, a cool, deep water pool and a warm, shallow depth pool, YWCA Flying Fish offers swim lessons, swim team, water polo, masters swimming, aqua aerobics, and lap swimming. Flying Fish Swim School teaches 1,200 children to swim each year, and the Flying Fish Swim Team is one of the largest in Illinois, with 500 swimmers ranging in age from 6-18.

YWCA actively reaches out to children in the community who don’t know how to swim and provides scholarships to ensure equitable access to swim lessons and swim team for all kids. As a lead partner in Evanston Swims!, YWCA also provides free swim instruction to second graders in Evanston Public Schools.
